Daily rates by season
If you are looking at motorhome hire prices in Barcelona, the first thing to know is that the rate depends on the season. At Segimon Rental we hire out a 2026 Sunlight V66 Adventure, and these are our daily prices, VAT included:
The dates of each season are shown on the online booking calendar. Roughly speaking, low season runs from November to March (excluding Christmas and Easter), mid season covers April to June plus September and October, high season includes July, Christmas and Easter, and peak season is August and some special dates. Always check the calendar for your exact dates.
- Low season: €125/day, minimum 3 days.
- Mid season: €150/day, minimum 4 days.
- High season: €180/day, minimum 7 days.
- Peak season: €210/day, minimum 7 days.
Included mileage
Rentals of 3 to 6 days include 300 km per day, so 1,200 km on a 4-day trip, for example. From 7 days, mileage is unlimited. If you go over the included distance on a short rental, each extra kilometre costs €0.40.
For most short breaks in Catalonia, 300 km a day is more than enough: from our base next to Granollers, the Costa Brava is an hour away and the Pyrenees an hour and a half. If you are planning a longer trip or heading into France, it is worth checking whether stretching it to 7 days suits you better.
What the price includes
The daily rate covers more than the vehicle. It includes the basic kit you need to travel straight away, with no surprises at collection:
- Kitchen kit, outdoor table and chairs.
- Awning and bike rack.
- CEE hook-up cable with adaptors, hose with adaptors and levelling chocks.
- Cleaning kit and chemical toilet products.
- Gas bottles full at handover.
- Normal exterior cleaning.
- 24-hour assistance under the insurance.
Optional extras
Some things suit some travellers and not others, so they are charged separately. Bedding and towels are the most popular if you would rather not bring your own.
- Bedding: €25 per bed.
- Towels: €15 per person.
- Starlink Mini: €10/day, maximum €60 per booking (subject to coverage).
- E-bike: €35/day or €150/week.
- Paddleboard: €15/day or €60/week.
- Additional driver: €25 (free from 7 days).
- Pet: €65, special cleaning included.
- Snow chains: €20.
- There are also gourmet and beach packs.
Deposit, booking and payment
To book, you send a request online and confirm it by paying 30 % of the total by bank transfer. The balance is due 7 days before collection.
Separately, there is a €1,000 security deposit, held on a card and not part of the hire price. Gas bottles are handed over full: bring them back full or the gas used will be charged.
Three example budgets
These calculations use only our published rates. Fuel is a rough estimate: we assume consumption of roughly 9 to 11 litres per 100 km and, purely for reference, diesel at €1.50 a litre; real fuel prices change and depend on where you fill up. Tolls depend on your route. Campsite and motorhome area costs vary a lot by area and season, so we leave them out: add them according to where you plan to stay.
Example 1 · 4 days in mid season for two. Hire: 4 × €150 = €600. Bedding for two beds (€50) and towels for two (€30): total €680. Includes 1,200 km. On a route of about 800 km, fuel would be around 72–88 litres, roughly €110–130 at the assumed price. Booking payment: 30 % = €204.
Example 2 · 7 days in high season with unlimited mileage. Hire: 7 × €180 = €1,260. Bedding (€50), towels (€30) and Starlink Mini (7 × €10 = €70, capped at €60): total €1,400. The additional driver is free. If you cover about 1,500 km, say to the south of France and back, allow 135–165 litres, roughly €200–250.
Example 3 · 5 days in low season. Hire: 5 × €125 = €625. Includes 1,500 km; if you drive 1,650 km you pay for 150 extra km × €0.40 = €60. With bedding (€50), the total is €735. Fuel for 1,650 km would be around 150–180 litres, roughly €225–270. In winter, add the gas used for heating.
How to keep costs down
Season makes the biggest difference: the same number of days in low season costs considerably less than in August, and the motorhome is fully winter-ready. If your dates are flexible, compare them on the calendar before you decide.
We have no published discounts for long rentals: ask us for a quote with your dates and we will come back with the exact price. And plan your route sensibly: fewer kilometres and relaxed stages save fuel and leave more time to enjoy the trip. If you are thinking of several weeks, read our guide to long-term motorhome hire.
- Book early for high and peak season.
- Bring your own bedding and towels to skip those extras.
- Mix campsite nights with nights at motorhome areas.
- Drive at a moderate speed: fuel consumption drops noticeably.
