Flying into Barcelona and starting your trip in a motorhome? Our base is about 35 minutes from El Prat airport, next to Granollers. We help you match your flight times to the pick-up and tell you what you can leave out of your suitcase.
From the plane to the motorhome
Barcelona-El Prat airport is about 35 minutes from the Segimon Rental base by car or taxi, without driving through the city centre. If you prefer the train, the Rodalies R2 Nord line leaves from the airport itself and stops at Granollers Centre; from there it is a short taxi ride. Check timetables before you travel. If flying into Girona suits you better, Girona-Costa Brava airport is roughly 45–60 minutes from the base along the AP-7.
Matching pick-up to your flight
Pick-ups are by appointment in the afternoon, between 16:00 and 19:00, and returns in the morning, between 9:00 and 12:00. If you land in the morning, you have time for a relaxed lunch before coming over; if you arrive at night, the sensible plan is to stay nearby and collect the next day. For the journey home, a flight from mid-afternoon onwards usually leaves enough margin after the return. Send us your flight times when you book and we will work it out.
What you don't need to pack
The motorhome comes with kitchen equipment, table and chairs, awning, cables and hose with adaptors, levelling chocks, a cleaning kit and full gas bottles. To travel light, you can add bedding (€25 per bed) and towels (€15 per person). Soft bags fit the lockers far better than hard suitcases. If you need to leave luggage somewhere during your trip, ask us before you come. Gas bottles go back full, or the gas used is charged. See the full list in what to pack for a motorhome trip and, if it is your first time, our first-trip guide.
If your route crosses borders
Many people who arrive by plane want to carry on to France, Andorra or further: the French border is 1 h 15 from the base, and on rentals of 7 days or more mileage is unlimited. Tell us before pick-up if you plan to leave Spain, so we can check the countries are covered by the insurance. Andorra is outside the EU, so bring your passport or ID card. The motorhome weighs 3,500 kg and can be driven on a standard car licence (category B); minimum age and years of licence depend on the insurance.

Frequently asked questions
01How far are you from Barcelona airport?
About 35 minutes by car or taxi. By public transport, the Rodalies R2 Nord line leaves from the airport and stops at Granollers Centre, followed by a short taxi ride. Check timetables.
02Can I pick up the motorhome on the day I land?
Yes, if your flight gets in early enough to reach the base between 16:00 and 19:00, always by appointment. If you land later, we recommend staying nearby and collecting the next day.
03Can you deliver the motorhome to the airport?
No. Pick-up and return take place at our base in Corró d'Avall (Les Franqueses del Vallès), next to Granollers.
04Can I leave my suitcases while I travel?
Please ask us before booking. The most practical option is to travel with soft bags, which fit in the motorhome lockers.
05Can I take the motorhome outside Spain?
Yes, to countries authorised by the insurance. Let us know before pick-up so we can check. Switzerland requires a motorway vignette, and for Andorra you need a passport or ID card.
